Job description: This London based Senior Accountant position is with an established business. The successful candidate will work in a small team, collaborating extensively with the FC and the CFO.

The responsibilities of the successful candidate will for this Senior Accountant role will include:

  • Financial reporting
  • Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and sub-ledgers
  • Participate in monthly and annual closes including preparation of reconciliations and other schedules and analyses
  • Prepare monthly journal entries
  • Prepare audit documentation and engage with third parties to support internal and external audit
  • Other duties as requested by the Financial Controller and/or Management team
  • UK Statutory reporting (FRS 102 – UK GAAP)
  • Prepare, reconcile, and review monthly journal entries for various operating companies within the program
  • Support local finance teams through annual statutory reporting process including participating in discussions with local accountants / auditors
  • As needed, act as a resource to support the operating subsidiaries in the UK program to resolve general ledger issues and questions
  • Management accounting and reporting
  • Prepare and analyze monthly data as part of internal trend analysis, budgeting, and program reporting
  • Support responses to periodic investor questions as needed

The successful candidate will have the following background:

  • Fully qualified accountant, ideally having qualified with a private practice or in-house; strong preference for financial services clients/financial services firm you have trained with
  • Deep knowledge of accounting standards and reporting requirements (UK GAAP, IFRS); US GAAP desirable
  • Strong business acumen, industry knowledge, understanding of the macroeconomic environment, financial management and strategic planning skills, and long-term
  • Comfortable dealing with large volumes of data, spreadsheets and performing complex analysis.
