Job Description

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join a fast-paced, delivery-focused team as we venture into the next phase of a major programme of work, transforming the billing capabilities of a firmly established, market-leading B2B business as part of a wider Lead to Cash transformation programme. This role requires someone who has experience of highly transactional billing environments and is adept at working across delivery methodologies to understand our client and business needs, define use cases and work with a cross-functional team of experts to help deliver the vision.

Why this role is important to us

Working as part of the Billing Centre of Excellence, the BA will have strong communication and rapport-building skills, acting as the conduit between the customer and business needs and the supporting tech, data and capability development teams. The ability to translate complex needs into functional requirements in conjunction with the solution owners and support the product owner with prioritisation and refinement of the backlog with a hands-on approach is highly desirable.

Work that matters – What you’ll be doing

  • Assists in the analysis of stakeholder objectives, and the underlying issues arising from investigations into business requirements and problems and identifies options for consideration.
  • Works iteratively with stakeholders, to identify and measure potential benefits, available options for consideration, and to help define acceptance tests.
  • Supports operational readiness activity and handing over of systems and processes into BAU.
  • Create documents as required, in particular Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM), Business Requirements Documents, Process Maps.
  • Effective planning and prioritisation skills to manage team tasks in an appropriate way to deliver on project commitments
  • An awareness of current technological trends coupled with a strong business acumen.
  • A software development or data analysis background or experience in engaging with software development teams and test teams is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in working with offshore or outsourced development teams and third-party suppliers is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and challenge effectively, focusing on making future-proof decisions.
  • Works collaboratively, leads by example and inspires the trust of others

Qualifications

What you’ll need to bring to the role & Experian
Critical Experience:

  • Driving workshops and requirement elicitation
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Understanding of billing technologies, processes and data management
  • Data analysis skills
  • Experience in Billing Processes and understanding of Systems, Payments processing and Revenue Assurance processes and solution implementation
  • Experience leading as Business Analyst and strong functional knowledge of Billing Solutions, processes and operations

Desirable Experience:

  • Working within a regulated environment
  • Large-scale, B2B environment
  • Complex data environment
  • Multiple product environment
  • Exposure to systems analysis and design
  • Understanding of agile and waterfall delivery methodologies
  • Good understanding of the end-to-end Prospect to Cash processes and solutions concepts
  • Project Management experience would be useful – ideally with PMP/PRINCE2 Certification
