Our Construction Planning team provides our clients with information on how their project would most effectively be built, from a logistics and programme perspective as well as from an environmental perspective. Our advice is often provided before contractors are appointed but we also contribute as projects progress, especially if changes are made in strategy or schedule. Our team is made up predominantly of ex-Contractors.

The Opportunity
We have a new opportunity within our Construction Planning team, based in London, working with Arup design teams from various regions. The work will involve a widespread variety of infrastructure and building projects, covering various project stages from proof of concept to completion of construction.
You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.
Is this role right for you?
We are seeking a professional with good comprehension and experience of modern construction methods and constructability issues including construction logistics. The role will involve producing construction programmes using a variety of planning software and utilising your experience of planning and scheduling. You will be working alongside other planners, designers and project managers, in order to promote, develop and boost the firm’s construction planning capability and services on a diverse range of projects.
Ideally you will have an interest in how the construction industry is evolving, especially where carbon footprint and environment is involved.
We are seeking the following skills and knowledge;
- Skill in compiling construction phasing diagrams and other visual techniques to convey project phasing and site logistics (such as time location charts);
- Ability to produce construction planning reports to explain programmes, phasing, risks, opportunities and assumptions.
- Abilities in presenting to clients and project teams
- Qualified to degree standard, in a related discipline.
