Senior Control Engineer – Electric Machine / Powertrain / Machine Controls / HIL – Global Automotive Company – 100,000+ Employees

I’m currently on the lookout for an experienced Senior Control Engineer for a leading automotive company.

You will be working for a global leading automotive company that has over 100,000 employees, with solid plans to double the engineering teams to around 200 over the next five years.

In brief, in this role you will be developing elegant and efficient solutions, analysing control systems design and modelling to drive subsystem components, develop control algorithms Powertrain, and plan, conduct and review testing of new software.

This is a full-time permanent position based in the Birmingham area, with some remote and on-site working each week. Due to the nature of the work, you’ll be required to live a commutable distance from site and flexibility is dependant on current work tasks for the day.

For this Senior Control Engineer position, I’m interested in speaking to people with the following:

– Around 4+ years experience in a similar Control Systems Engineering role

– Powertrain and Machine Controls experience

– Experience of modern automotive systems

– Experience in state-of-the-art electric drive simulation and analysis tools

– Control algorithms experience

– High Voltage Inverters / converters.

– MATLAB, Simulink, Dspace, CAN and flexray communication protocols

– Experience of requirements analysis and management such as DOORS / Cradle / Jira etc

– Knowledge of Microcontrollers within embedded systems
