Job description: Job DescriptionSenior Cyber Security Threat Intelligence AnalystJob DescriptionAt abrdn the security and protection of our customer assets and data is of paramount importance, especially within the changing digital world.Within our Security, Resilience & Protection department, an exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an entry level Senior Threat Intelligence Analyst.About the roleThe Senior Threat Intelligence Analyst is an exciting and integral part of the Cyber Security Operations team with the objective supporting the wider Cyber Security Operations team in delivering improvements to the organisation’s security posture and keeping our business safe from cyber-attacks.This important role will develop and enhance abrdn’s cyber defense strategy, ensuring the organisation understands their top threats and providing the security teams with actionable information. This role will play a key part in defining the threat intelligence strategy for the organisation. The role reports directly to the Cyber Security Operations Manager and is based in Edinburgh. The role holder will work closely with our Cyber Security Operation Centre and with other security functions as well as specialist 3rd party security suppliers and the global IT and business teams.Key Responsibilities:As a part of the Cyber Security Operations team, this role will deliver:Threat intelligence capabilities, plan, direct and control the intelligence function based on priorities and intelligence requirements/needs.Threat modelling, plan the development, curation, maintenance and deployment of a Threat Modelling capability.Threat Hunting, pattern recognition, data analytics, malware analysis and data forensicsProduce intelligence covering technical, tactical, operational and strategic areas to a range of stakeholders.Gather TI requirements, facilitate evaluation of intelligence, stakeholder maps and ensuring that threat information and intelligence is described in a clear, concise manner.Respond to emerging threats with ad hoc alerts and periodic threat intel report summaries.Engagement in industry information sharing groups.Contribute to threat hunting & use case development.Ownership and engineering of threat intelligence systems, scripts or integrations.Support security incidents to provide contextual information.Line management may be a part of this role, depending on current experience and career aspirationsSkills/ExperienceExtensive experience in security and threat intelligence, ideally within an international asset management or similar large organisations.Experience with enterprise threat intelligence frameworks. Including hands on experience with attackers TTP’s, managing technical IoC’s and TI platforms.Experience with security tools, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, AV, web and email filtering, webapp firewalls and DDoS protections, host based protections and malware analysis .Familiarity with common enterprise technologies e.g. Microsoft, Linux, VMWare, Citrix, Bloomberg etc.Passion for security and self-development to keep up to date with the evolving threat and vulnerability landscape, new technologies and service improvements.Able to work in an international matrix organisation with complex and dynamic drivers and constraints.Comfortable with a fast paced multi-threaded working environment.Industry recognised certifications such as CEH, OSCP, CISSP or equivalent experience.About abrdnAt abrdn, enabling our clients to be better investors drives everything we do.Through the expertise, insight and innovation of our team, we aim to help clients create more ways for money to make an impact.
