We are looking for a Senior Employee Relations (ER) Manager with deep experience influencing and impacting high-growth businesses through effective management (both proactive and reactive) of a wide range of employee relations issues.
- Lead and coordinate the activities of a team of HR officers to ensure the team responds and resolves ER queries and cases promptly, fairly, consistently, commercially, and pragmatically.
- Define and support the implementation of an ER operating model including policy, process, governance, and capability.
- Provide guidance and advice on sensitive complex scenarios (i.e. negotiated departures, potentially significant matters where there are people and business risk).
- Partner with key stakeholders to facilitate appropriate outcomes to mitigate risk and develop remediation plans for behavioural, cultural/work environment issues.
- Partner People Team Leads to proactively advise on wider people-related issues that span the employee lifecycle.
- Manage the Employee Relations caseload and provide expertise, support, coaching, and advice to your team of Officers.
- Own and manage all Employee Relations policies, creating them where necessary, and ensuring processes and SLAs are followed.
- Analyse employee relations trends to help develop proactive strategies solutions, programs and policies.
- Create executive briefings, case summaries, proposals, and materials including content across the team to support programs (manager trainings), processes (flow charts), and executive summaries (PowerPoint).
- CIPD qualified with 10+ years Employee Relations or related employment law experience.
- Strong leadership skills with team management experience.
- You’ll have strong Employee Relations experience and be able to demonstrate commercial acumen; you will be comfortable navigating & reducing risk, providing effective employment relations-based business solutions that support operational outcomes.
- Ability to think strategically and focus on the most important issues.
- You’ll have a good understanding of UK employment legislation.
- A relationship builder with the credibility to take the lead and challenge or influence people’s thinking.
- Strategically skilled in developing creative solutions, utilising data analysis and the ability to leverage HR analytics to make better decisions.
- Capability to work with limited direction, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive linear, fact-based insights, recommendations, and solutions.
