Are you ready to Discover Different?We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a qualified finance professional to join our Financial Control team at our European Head Office of TJX Europe.The Senior Finance Analyst position is a highly commercial focused role and unique to Financial Control at TJX Europe, supporting and delivering insight to the Buying and Merchandising function, the core of our off price business.The TJX off-price model means we buy opportunistically and having the right amount of cash/liquidity to is crucial to the success of our business model.The main role of the Buying Analysis team is to partner with the heads of Buying to assist with setting liquidity targets to ensure merchandise Sales and Inventory plans are met. We report and review liquidity/open to buy on a weekly basis with Buying, along with providing visibility to the business on orders placed by our buyers and the Markon generated.The role involves partnering at a senior level across our Buying and Merchandising Function by providing a number of periodic, ad hoc performance reports in order to aid decision making in order to help meet our overall business goals.The role will also require cross-functional interaction with other sub teams of Financial Control, Commercial Planning and Logistics.Key Responsibilities/ Tasks
- Drive forward our data objectives across the team, modernising the way we manage our data (using tools such as Alteryx) and working with Power BI dashboarding, to deliver insight to our business partners
- Prepare ad hoc scenario analysis on Liquidity/OTB position to identify risks and opportunities to influence and support management decision making.
- Business partnering on a regular basis with Buying Managers and Buying Directors.
- Prepare ad hoc requests as daily business requires for Buying Managers, Buying Directors and Senior Management in Finance.
- Preparation and delivery of presentations on business performance (i.e. DVP conferences, GM Teams days, Buying Office visits).
- Driving process and excel model simplification, consistency and repeatability whenever possible to drive efficiencies to help the financial control function concentrate on value added work.
- Be seen as an expert on the complex TJX business model to confidently deal with queries from Buying and Senior Finance management.
Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Qualified accountant
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain and develop financial models – advanced Excel skills are a necessity
- Advanced data modelling essential – comfortable combining and drawing insight from multiple large data sources
- Ability to business partner and explain financials to non-financial personnel
- Ability to develop relationships at all levels of the business
- Ability to influence senior management
- Developed analytical skills and problem solving skills
- Be able to evaluate and make recommendations rather than simply providing reports
- Flexibility in approach and a willingness to go beyond the defined role
- The ability to multitask, prioritise and work in a fast paced environment
- Experience in retail would be a plus
