Job description: Grafton Banks Finance is recruiting a Senior Finance Business Partner for a large, expanding Insurance business with offices in central London. (3 days per week remote working on offer). Candidates needs to be fully qualified, either CIMA, ACCA or ACA and have previous insurance sector experience as well as commercial and analytical accounting experience to apply. The purpose of the role is to provide financial insight to the business and drive a robust performance management culture using financial data, acting as a true business partner to the business. You will also play a leading role in the planning, forecasting and budgeting processes.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Responsible for preparing planning timetables and distribution of templates, the collation and aggregation of plan submissions. Upload all relevant budget submissions into planning tools and review/analyse budget results. Investigate and resolve problems with budget and forecast submissions and upload.
  • Acting as a business partner to the Business leaders providing support and information to assist with budget preparation and active performance management.
  • Analyse and interpret budget information against actual performance and assist with budget review and stretch setting process. Use judgement to determine variances to review and areas of investigation. Challenge business units (including senior management where necessary) on business plans and current performance and recommend areas of enhancement .
  • Finance modelling of business performance and new commercial opportunities to improve commercial outcomes.
  • Seek out areas for continuous Commercial and business improvements and assisting the finance team and other areas of the business with any improvements to processes or systems by implementing innovative ideas.
  • Work to improve financial management and rigour around the Transformation Portfolio process, better analysing costs, and benefits to deliver improved investment decisions.
  • Assist with year-end audits and financial reviews on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Assist with ad-hoc financial analyses as needed.
