Job description: Main responsibilities:
- Being a key part of the finance team, working with the internal and external auditors, leading the monthly and annual financial reporting.
- Assisting with the financial statements and statutory returns.
- Working on future accounting projects such as a Finance Systems Implementation.
- Proving the business with technical accounting knowledge and advise on budgeting.
- Writing accounting papers for senior management.
- Working closely with the finance team, on reviewing and improving accounting systems and reconciliations to ensure that strong internal controls are put in place to support the finance systems.
- Being proactive in risk management to ensure risks are identified and dealt with accordingly.
Global Accounting Network are partnering with a business in the renewable energy space to find a Senior Financial Accountant to help set up their new hub in Manchester.

Skills/experience required:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA or equivalent)
- External audit background highly desirable
- Experience in a financial accounting role, preparing statutory accounts under IFRS
- Experience with IFRS 16, leasing
- Natural leadership ability, with the desire to step into people management
