What you’ll doWithin this role you will act as a Brand Ambassador for M&S and the voice of our Franchise Partner. Demonstrating excellent influencing, leadership, commercial, strategic and people management skills to be able to effectively interact and influence all levels within M&S and our partnerships.
- Drive sales and profit to deliver and exceed our budgets whilst ensuring all trade plans are delivered following the agreed trade planning process
- Lead the day-to-day commercial relationship with Franchise Partners through effective commercial management, and excellent communication.
- Lead the commercial delivery of the joint Business Plans and use these to drive the commercial agenda and ensure we have clear growth plans in place.
- Agree partner-specific trade plans, which are in line with our food strategy and are as consistent as is relevant and possible across our other Franchise partners. Working closely with the Supply Chain Manager to drive availability and waste performance within our Franchise partners
- Use commercial and customer analysis to drive performance.
- Set clear, effective price and promotional strategy. Working with the Finance team to drive profitability through product mix, promotions and shape of range including relevant NPD.
- Set effective range strategies to optimise selling format and product choice, understanding space requirements.
- Agree internally facing cluster trade plans, and build great relationships and ways of working with key categories
- Drive our Plan A targets and carbon reduction plans as the lead for Foods, within our International channel
Who you are
- Strong leadership skills with ability of influencing at senior levels. Excellent Team player with effective people management experience.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation & networking skills
- Developed commercial acumen & analytical capability. Proven experience within analysis of commercial and customer information to seize commercial opportunities
- Financial savvy with clear understanding of P&L management & business planning
- Strong decision maker with a focus on attention to detail.
- Relationship building and management; partners and colleagues
- Ideally experience with food
