A successful North-West IT Solutions provider for the education sector are looking to expand their successful team further, by appointing an Onsite IT Support Technician. Reporting to the Head of IT and joining a team of 20 others, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing organisation with lots of training and development opportunities.

In the role, you will provide technical support to users at a number of different sites in the Greater Manchester area (approx. 20 mile radius). You will be given a schedule of between 7-10 clients to visit on a planned basis and travel to them to troubleshoot any technical issues they are having.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in different environments, has a broad technical skillset and who enjoys working in a varied role. Any previous experience in providing IT Support within the education sector would be a plus, but not essential.

About the Role:

  • Provide telephone, remote and on-site support to users.
  • Manage wireless infrastructure at sites.
  • Build IT equipment and complete installations at multiple sites.
  • Software upgrades and installations.
  • Set-up new users.
  • Password resets.
  • Involvement in new and ongoing IT project work.

Required skills / experience should include knowledge of most of the below:

  • Windows Servers and Operating Systems
  • Office 365, InTune, Exchange Online
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS
  • Any knowledge of Apple Mac products is an advantage
  • Understanding of networking protocols
  • Adaptability and a proactive approach to work
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to explain technical terms to non-technical users
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own car (all travel costs are fully reimbursed).
