Working for our Cromwell Hospital, the Senior IT Project Manager will lead, oversee and ensure the successful delivery and management of complex and large-scale IT projects. The IT Senior Project Manager is expected to deliver business value by providing expertise and experience in project management enabling greater productivity within the IT Delivery team.
This is a hands-on role, looking for a self-starter, with strong technical and project management experience, being able to shape the IT implementation approach for its projects. This role is expected to design implementation strategy with defined success criteria.
How you’ll help us make health happen
As Senior IT Project Manager, you will:
Be the go-to lead for the project team, vendors and business, owning the management process throughout the entire project lifecycle from Initiation to Transition into Operation.
Plan and direct the overall project of work by driving a clear vision and goals.
Ensure accurate and adequate documentation and reporting during delivery and into service.
Creating an engaged project team throughout the whole project/engagement lifecycle.
Lead the development of the overall approach for the projects assigned to, its time frames and the definition of its deliverables to address and meet the desired goals and outcomes.
Develop and control the project budget, and manage expenditure within agreed spending plans.
Ensure and balance the availability of the required skills and competencies across project teams within the project.
Effectively liaise with all relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure that requirements are identified, assessed and appropriately integrated into the project.
Develop the delivery strategy and lead the procurement and execution of the IT project.
Provide input into the wider programme/portfolio risk assessment and management process.
Review project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements and allotment of available departmental resources to various project phases backlog prioritisation.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
Experience on leading and delivering complex IT projects or programmes in a healthcare environment.
Significant experience in delivery/project/program management in both Agile and Waterfall, multidiscipline environment in roles across the business and IT.
Experience on predictable planning and Agile ceremonies
Proven experience in systems integration, migration and implementation projects.
Experience working on multiple and large-scale IT complex projects.
Strong working knowledge of project management tools (Microsoft Project, Jira, Dev Ops, Planner …)
Strong working knowledge of change management practices
PMP / PRINCE2 / Agile/SCRUM Master/Change Management/Risk Management certifications desirable
Demonstrable experience in managing 3rd parties within the delivery lifecycle.
Flexibility to meet the demands of a hospital undergoing digital transformation.
The ability to work under pressure, deliver to tight deadlines and manage professional stakeholders
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate written and verbal communications clearly and concisely.
