Job Description
FTE:1.0 fte (working 37 hours per week (Part time may also be considered))
Salary: UH8 £44,263 to £56,021 pa dependent on skills and experience.
Annual Leave: 35 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year
Location: de Havilland Campus, Hatfield
Hertfordshire Business School are pleased to be able to offer the opportunity to join their expanding team. The post is located in the strategic management subject group and will take a leading role in the development and delivery of curricula for our Senior Leader and Chartered Manager apprentices, and our MBA programme, as well as contributing to the diverse range of collaborative topics spanning management, strategy and leadership across sectors.
Main duties and responsibilities
You will be expected to contribute to and engage in the teaching and module leadership on the undergraduate, postgraduate and executive programmes offered by the school. The role will also require you to undertake supervision of student projects, dissertations, and theses as appropriate and be responsible for the pastoral care of students and providing aspects of student support, including personal tutoring. In addition to this you will maintain and develop links with relevant professional bodies and academic groupings. As a Senior Lecturer you will also be expected to undertake and develop links with relevant professional bodies and academic groupings and participate, where appropriate, in developing research objectives, projects and proposals. In addition to this you may be required to engage with the School’s business development activities.
Skill and experience required
You will have relevant expert knowledge in the subject area of healthcare management and/or leadership. You will draw on professional experience of working within the NHS or associated professional bodies or delivery contexts in a management or leadership development capacity. The successful candidate will have a willingness to be involved in module/programme development and administration and other related duties. You must have the ability to maintain and develop related knowledge and skills as required for the position and an ability to work on own initiative and as a part of a team. You will have good IT skills and excellent planning, organisational, time management skills, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. You must also be proficient in English Language.
For the role of Senior Lecturer, you will also be expected to have substantive links with industry that can be drawn into teaching, consultancy and/or research activities. In addition to this you must have a willingness to be involved in the business development activities of the School.
Qualifications required
You must hold a minimum of a Postgraduate Qualification, or a relevant qualification at first degree and significant comparable professional experience equivalent to Level 7 or above. Membership of relevant professional bodies and/or fellowship of Advance HE is desirable.
