Full time: 35 hours per week – OOH included 

Fixed term: for 16 months from March 2025

The Opportunity:

The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies is seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) based within the Hospital for Small Animals on Easter Bush Campus, just outside Edinburgh. The successful applicant will join our established ECC team, and will share supervision of our combined emergency receiving and ICU services within our well-equipped multidisciplinary teaching hospital.

Responsibilities will include clinical, teaching and research with a clinical focus. An important aspect of the role is participation in the delivery and assessment of the BVM&S undergraduate teaching programme. The R(D)SVS also has a strong tradition of research, with excellent collaborative links both on campus and within the wider university providing many exciting opportunities for both clinical and basic science research.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • A degree in veterinary medicine and, at the time of appointment, be registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
  • Applicants with either an ACVECC or ECVECC diploma are preferred, but those who have recently completed an approved residency and are board eligible in Emergency and Critical Care will also be considered (for Lecturer).
  • Experience in teaching and clinical research
