Senior Lecturer Visual Communication at University for the Creative Arts

Job Description

We are looking to appoint a Senior Lecturer with responsibilities in managing, administering, teaching and supervising the delivery within the BA Visual Communication course at Canterbury UCA.

You will have a good undergraduate and a postgraduate qualification and a good knowledge of current studio-based practices within the context of contemporary visual communication. 

Experience of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, good verbal and written communication skills, organisational ability, and personal initiative is required.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A deep commitment to Visual Communication as a creative and cultural discipline, and to teaching and mentoring future communication designers.
  • Experience of delivering workshops, studio mentoring, professional apprenticeships, or Higher Education teaching (formal teaching experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Undergraduate and Postgraduate qualifications (Master’s minimum; PhD desirable) and leadership experience in curriculum design, teaching, or research.
  • For Technical Tutors: Strong craft skills and knowledge of Visual Communication tools, processes, and studio environments.
  • A collaborative, open-minded approach to working within an interdisciplinary, innovative programme.
