Gama Aviation is currently recruiting for a Senior Management Accountant to join our dynamic and diligent Finance Team at our HQ in Farnborough. This is an exciting and integral role, reporting and working closely with our Finance Manager for Europe, supporting the efficient and timely preparation of the financial and management reports covering monthly management accounts, regular reporting packs, audit preparation, annual budget forecasts, balance sheet reconciliation, as well as ad hoc analysis to support the business. You will partner and interact with the wider business to ensure accuracy and rigour in the accounts and reporting, as well as ensure tasks and deadlines are met.

The successful candidate will be a qualified or part-qualified Management Accountant, with extensive experience in a similar role and excellent systems and excel skills for general accounting and reporting. We are looking for a confident individual with fantastic interpersonal and communication skills who is able to partner with stakeholders of all levels across the business.

/ Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of accurate and timely financial and management reports, to include, but not limited to:

– Monthly management accounts
– Half year and full year, Monthly and Quarterly reporting packs in line with company and group requirements
– Annual and Interim audit preparation, audit requests and statutory accounts, and confident communication with Auditors
– Annual Budget and periodic Forecast preparation with detailed support
– Balance Sheet reconciliations, to ensure integrity and a thorough understanding
– Financial, commercial and project analysis to support the business

  • Implementing effective controls, business performance measures and financial planning
  • Strong financial accounting skills to oversee monthly balance sheet reconciliation preparation
  • Ensure transactions are correctly posted within the balance sheet and P&L’s in accordance with the correct accounting treatment and standards
  • Preparation of Gama Aviation Limited’s payroll journals and liaison with Payroll
  • Business partnering to ensure key business drivers are understood by the wider business and actions taken to improve business performance
  • Assist the Finance Manager with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Involvement in the audit process, delegating tasks as needed to the wider team
  • Preparation of Corporation tax schedules and VAT returns
  • Liaising and working with the Group Finance community as needed to ensure effective and timely resolution of any issues across or between the entities

/ Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Part-Qualified Accountant – ACA, CIMA, ACCA mid-complete or above
  • Extensive experience at Management Accountant level, it is likely that the individual will currently be in a similar position
  • Technically strong, with a high level of financial and management accounting expertise is essential
  • Systems proficiency in general accounting (Sage200 preferable or equivalent), reporting software and having strong Excel skills. Excel Power Query skills would be a plus
  • Fully conversant with UK GAAP, IFRS knowledge would be ideal but not essential
  • Experience of strong controls while providing commercial and financial support to a senior management team
  • Strong analysis skills and the tenacity to get to the answers
  • Ability to quickly adapt to a complex operating environment and engender confidence through your involvement with department heads, senior management and financial staff
  • Confident individual with strong communication skills at all levels and across all disciplines
