Reporting to the Learning & Talent Director, the Head of Capability and Curricula will manage a small team of learning specialists responsible for providing high-quality learning curricula across Deloitte UK, linked to Deloitte’s strategic ambitions, and which position us to win in the market.

The role requires close collaboration with subject matter experts to define the skills and capabilities required by Deloitte professionals. Drawing on insights from Strategic Workforce Planning, Learning Needs Analyses and external best practice, this role is responsible for establishing the curricula and content that will develop the capabilities required by different grades, personas and levels of expertise requirements (foundational, advanced, mastery).

Curating and integrating the best of the best from what already exists (e.g. from Deloitte North South Europe (NSE), Deloitte University (DU), Global, the Business, Central team), this role will be responsible for ensuring firmwide awareness of the recommended learning solutions for developing specific capabilities, establishing clear ‘Go-To’ Learning Solutions that will raise awareness of the development expectations and to streamline our learning offering.

Curriculum management

  • Curricula strategy – Sets strategy for curriculum development, aligning with Deloitte University EMEA, North South Europe (NSE) and Global Deloitte learning strategy. Identifies requirements and priority of curricula required for development roadmap and to fulfil firm ambitions (for example, commercial acumen, digital literacy, professional skills, and industry).
  • Curriculum standards – Design, develop and own standards for high quality content and consistent curricula that will deliver best in class learning solutions that enable the delivery of our business strategy and top quality client advisory standards. Ensuring that Deloitte curricula are aligned to the latest industry innovations and leading the way in the market.
  • Curriculum design – Establishes the skills and capabilities required at each grade and level of expertise. Utilise output from Learning Needs Analysis (LNAs), Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP), best practice standards and discussions with business learning leads and subject matter experts to develop curriculum frameworks capturing development needs. Ensures consistent look and feel all learning curricula, establishing a common Deloitte learning identity.
  • Curriculum development – Leads the development of firmwide curricula, auditing what content currently exits, curating and integrating learning solutions from across the Deloitte network as appropriate. Where content gaps are identified, works with learning designers to develop innovative, high impact and scalable learning solutions including digital resources and content for live delivery.
  • Curriculum delivery – Oversees the delivery and implementation of learning solutions within the curricula, ensuring relevant requirements and milestones are achieved. Ensure awareness of and ease of access to learning curricula and content to build firmwide understanding of what recommended learning solutions are.

Curriculum Impact measurement and improvement

  • Evaluation – Develops assessment strategies aligned to firmwide measurement framework to measure the effectiveness and return on investment of curricula.
  • Maintenance – Oversee regular audits of curricula, ensuring curricula remain up to date with the latest developments.
  • Improvements – Coordinates data-driven improvements to refresh and refine content and the creation of new elements within curricula in order to maintain quality standards.

Team Management and People Leadership

  • Set the strategy and plan for the team, and direct resources accordingly.
  • Motivate and engage the team to work effectively and impactfully.
  • Ensure People Leader responsibilities effectively undertaken.
  • Engage effectively with all parts of the Talent and Learning team to ensure an aligned approach.

Project and Resource Management

  • Project and budget management – Ensures that agreed design and delivery milestones are achieved in line with budget and resourcing plans.
  • Reporting – Communicates milestones, progress, issues, and status regularly to stakeholders.
  • Continuous improvement – Proactively contributes to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and tools to maximise efficiency and cost minimisation.
  • Supplier management – identification, onboarding and management of best in class learning suppliers engaged with the design and delivery of learning curricula.

Stakeholder Management

  • Identifies and proactively engages with stakeholders within HR, the Business Learning Teams, and the wider organisation both in the UK and beyond, to ensure we are designing and delivering content and curricula that meet the business needs and client and employee expectations.

  • Curriculum Development: ability to design and develop comprehensive, effective, and engaging curriculums tailored to the needs of different learner groups.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis to make informed decisions regarding curriculum enhancements and improvements.
  • Evaluation and Assessment: developing assessment strategies to measure the effectiveness of curriculums and make data-driven improvements.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor the progress of projects.
  • Budget Management: Proficiency in budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Continuous Learning: A commitment to staying current with industry trends and best practices in curriculum development and learning management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: – especially PowerPoint, Excel and Teams.

Stakeholder collaboration

  • Leadership: Effective leadership skills to lead a team in curriculum development.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence, consult, coach, educate and advise and work with senior managers, directors, partners and global colleagues.

Other desirable experience:

  • Experience working with Monday.com or other project management tools.
  • Experience of working in a partnership and/or highly matrixed organisation.
