An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Financial Performance & Analysis (FP&A) team within Group Corporate Treasury! Specifically, the role focuses on the Capital & Issuance desk a key function in securing and building the financial strength and performance of the Group. As such the successful candidate will have proven ability to work with a team to clearly communicate with senior stakeholders both within and outside of their own division.
What will you be doing?
The Financial Performance and Analysis team’s primary function is to provide insightful and value-add financial information to the GCT business to support its decision-making and the delivery of strategic aims.
Some of key activities that you will be involved in are:
- Co-ordinate GCT’s Capital & Issuance input into Group wide planning and stress testing activities – including the creation of latest view forecasts.
- Manage the monthly actuals, explaining variances to plan back to business activity.
- Clearly communicate the results of the planning\stress along with monthly actuals to stakeholders across the Group
- Manage relationships with key internal customers and act as their business partner.
- Ensure that appropriate controls are in place to ensure that the financial results are robust.
- Take ownership for implementing formal development frameworks for their team, while informally coaching and mentoring others throughout the organisation and investing in own personal development.
- Contributing towards the maintenance of the department’s risk and controls framework
- Implementation of the Finance strategy – ‘Harnessing Data to Enhance Control, Build Efficiency and Drive Value for the Group’
We are looking for someone with the following skills / experience:
- A qualified accountant with relevant post-qualification experience
- Understanding of Capital within a bank, the products used to manage along with wider knowledge of a Group Treasury function within a Bank.
- Strong IFRS 9 accounting knowledge on products that Treasury will trade.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in an understandable manner to a wide range of partners, often those at senior levels.
- Knowledge of the regulatory environment and the LBG legal entity structure
- Highly analytical and able to draw out key messages to support and influence decision making.
- Willingness to proactively work with other areas of finance and the business to resolve issues.
- A change mind-set – keen to challenge and make continual improvements to our ways of working.
- Recognising the importance of strong controls and a willingness to keep challenging and improving our controls environment.
