Job description: We are looking for an Occupational Therapist that can deliver high quality care within a busy and acute inpatient environment. The post would be a static post within the Medical and Healthcare of the Older Person (HCOOP) team at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.Due to career development of existing staff, and service developments, we have some exciting opportunities for a static Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist post. This post would suit a Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist looking for a new challenge, or a Band 5 Occupational Therapist ready to further develop their skills and career.Main duties of the jobYou will be working as a key member of the team supporting patients on the acute medical and HCOOP wards, offering assessment and treatment plans, alongside discharge planning.The successful candidate would be expected to:o To manage a clinical caseload of patients, and be responsible for the assessment, formulation and evaluation of patient-centred care.o To be able to facilitate safe discharge planning from hospital to the community.o To deputise for Team Leader on clinical and managerial issues within the teamo To be actively involved with training and development within the Department in support of new graduate Occupational therapists, student therapists, therapy apprentices and support workers alongside other senior members of the team.o Promote the role of OT and demonstrate the values to the members of the multi-disciplinary team.About usWe are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with fivehospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people.
