Due to significant expansion and growth, our client in London is a looking for experienced Senior Planners/ Senior Project Control Engineers to work across a portfolio of major high-profile infrastructure client projects in London and the Southeast.

Joining the team in London, you will work as part of the Project Controls team providing performance reporting and analysis support to your project. The responsibilities include developing work breakdown structures and robust performance baselines, establishing progress and cost monitoring methods, producing project control reports, and providing performance analysis.

SC/DV Clearance is desirable, however the ability to gain clearance is essential.

It’s a permanent position, predominately client facing, this may be part of a large team or as the key day to day contact point with the client.

Role: Permanent – Senior Project Controls Engineer

Location: London (Hybrid Working – Flexible Adult Working)

Salary: £60,000pa – £70,000p/a (depending on experience) + car allowance.

Type: Consultancy (Infrastructure Projects- Client Facing)

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining project schedules, critical path analysis, identifying key milestones, and ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
  • Preparing cost estimates, monitoring project budgets, analyzing cost performance, and recommending corrective actions to keep the project on track financially.
  • Identifying potential project risks, assessing their impact, and developing risk mitigation strategies to minimize negative impacts on project progress and objectives.
  • Generating regular progress reports for project stakeholders, highlighting project status, issues, and key performance indicators.
  • Assessing and managing project changes, evaluating their impact on schedule and cost, and ensuring proper documentation and approval processes are followed.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, providing updates on project progress, and addressing any client concerns related to project controls.
  • Maintaining and organizing project documentation, ensuring version control, and ensuring access to relevant stakeholders.
  • Providing guidance and support to junior project controls staff, assisting in their professional development, and conducting training sessions as necessary

The Senior Project Controls Engineer/ Senior Planner must have some experience in:

  • Performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control, risk and analysis.
  • Proficiency with multiple discipline specific software applications such as Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management.
  • Previous experience working within the Nuclear/Rail/ Highways/ Aviation/Defence Industry is essential, must be eligible to gain SC/DV clearance.
  • Planning/ controls background.
