Job description: We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Pricing Analyst to join the Retail Pricing team here at AXA. You’ll lead and support projects that continually improve predictiveness and segmentation of statistical models of claims and demand across products and channels using both traditional and data science/contemporary techniques.

You’ll work at least 40% of your week away from home. The expectation for this role is to work from our London office a minimum of 2 days per week.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Create, validate and reconcile datasets for analysis and undertake analysis by writing and manipulating code.
  • Support in the creation, maintenance and deployment of rating models that predict claims cost, conversion or retention.
  • Contribute to the specification, development and testing cycles for deployment of rates.
  • Consider the impact on customers of pricing actions and act to avoid any unfair treatment.
  • Lead in producing and developing appropriate monitoring for pricing and other stakeholders.
  • Provide technical underwriting and pricing support to assist the business in achieving its plans.
  • Develop own skills and capabilities, and support others development.
  • Build strong relationships with managers, peers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • 2.1 degree or higher in a mathematics related discipline or evidence of equivalent proficiency.
  • Experience in a related Insurance Pricing role is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent numerical mathematical skills.
  • Knowledge of predictive modelling for Risk and/or Demand models.
  • Ability to demonstrate high levels of problem-solving skills & initiative.
  • Effective communication skills to help establish a network within AXA.
  • A continuous appetite to learn and develop skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise own work and that of a small project team.
  • Embrace teamwork by supporting and respecting others.
  • Knowledge of tools such as Python, R, SAS, SQL or other analytical language/tools.
  • Understanding of machine learning techniques.
  • Awareness of appropriate statistical techniques for insurance analysis.
  • Ability to deliver under strict deadlines whilst maintaining reliability and accuracy.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
