Job Description
We are currently looking for a Senior Process Engineer, to join our team in the West Midlands. The successful Candidates will have a significant experience gained in an Automotive industry. Some of the day-to-day activities may involve:
- Automotive Build related tasks – Production and VP.
- Automation / T&F Process / DMBI.
- Training graduates and apprentices.
- Writing of Engineering RFQ’s applying knowledge of the Processes and Engineering Disciplines in order to do so.
- PFMEA, Ergonomic Assessment & Cell Safety tasks.
- Applying knowledge of Weld/Rivet Matrix/Process Designer/Process Brochures/DES deliverables.
- Adopting continuous improvement of Platform Engineering practises in conjunction with Controls, R&D and Quality department.
- Layout Design and maturation.
- Cycle Chart Competency & SOP liaison.
- Process Design for Sales Support.
- Liaising with various Engineering teams, Customer, and external solutions providers.
- Internal/Customer Design Reviews.
- Cycle Time resolution & Video Analysis.
- Adhering to project commodity and resource budgets.
- Lean Operational Techniques / KAIZAN / Yamazumi.
- Working with the Master Tooling Tracker.
- Creation of Folder Structures for Process Documentation within both Design Server / ERP.
- Technical Availability and Process Flow Diagram creation for DES.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree/ HNC (or equivalent qualification) in an engineering field.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Experience in Automotive automation and tooling.
- Familiarity with mechanical design good practice, industry standards and procedures.
- Proven ability to lead complex designs and mentor other engineers, graduates and apprentices.
- Good knowledge of British and international standards relative to the design and installation of industrial automation systems.
- Focus on efficient design with regards to cost and quality.
- Strong Time Management skills and ability to multi-task.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
