JOB DECRIPTION

The Senior Progression Officer is part of the Assessments and Progression team and takes the lead on student progression related activities within the University. The postholder will lead a small team working directly with students on an individual and group basis, providing information, advice, guidance, and assistance to help them progress in their studies.

The postholder will lead the Progress Scheme and Re-ignite call campaign, providing targeted support for students to help them to achieve their learning objectives and when returning from study breaks.

Additionally, the postholder will administer the Academic Advisor system, delivering projects to refine our approaches and systems. The Senior Progression Officer will co-ordinate the Academic Advisor network, providing training to ensure the suite of staff-focussed resources is continuously developed.

ABOUT YOU

  • A degree or equivalent experience
  • Previous administrative, student support or customer service experience
  • Strong leadership and line management skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in IT systems and database management
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Special Conditions   

  • Some out of hours working will be occasionally required 
  • Opportunities for taking annual leave during the months of July, August and September will be limited, and leave at other times will need to be assessed across the team so that service provision is not impacted.
