Job description: Senior Project Accounting Manager – £75,000 – £85,000 + Bonus & company benefits – Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire (Hybrid)FryerMiles are delighted to be working with a global defence business to assist with the recruitment of a Senior Project Accounting Manager, managing a small team of 3 and reporting into the VP of Finance.The Senior Project Accounting Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Project Accounting team. This role has management responsibilities for the finance project team and is responsible for ensuring the financial and commercial aspects of the projects are managed and controlled. The role will work closely with the VP Finance and the wider team to ensure efficient running of the Projects to support the business to achieve its goals.Responsibilities include:
- Manage a small experienced and established Program Accounting team (3) – including staff development, training and simplification of existing workflows (e.g. month end processes, project closure, EAC maturity)
- Oversee formal quarterly Program Cost Reviews across the portfolios.
- Review and challenge program inputs into the FP&A processes / budgets / forecasts.
- Provide program reports to Program managers and Senior Management as requested.
- Lead Working Capital Improvement Initiatives
- Monitor cashflow reporting and gross margin analysis for individual programs, portfolios across the wider business.
- Problem-solving skills are crucial to analysing past and current performance and recommending objectives to improve productivity and profitability.
Desired skills:
- ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified.
- Experience with GAAP, IFRS accounting standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
- First-rate communicator with the ability to build relationships with colleagues quickly.
- Self-starter with a pro-active approach to their work
- Strong IT skills across finance systems and Advanced user of Excel
