We’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the Mace Consult Central Government team to lead key projects across our Houses of Parliament account. We have an exciting pipeline of work and the successful candidate will be responsible for delivery at all project stages, ensuring relevant stakeholders and professional team members are engaged throughout.. The Central Government sector is responsible for developing our business across Parliament’s vast estate, which includes the Palace of Westminster, Parliamentary Northern Estate and ancillary built assets. We are seeking a candidate with a passion for historic buildings and a proven track record delivery projects and programmes in busy, live environments. The successful candidate will be expected to work on their own initiative and as part of a wider team to support Mace’s client in achieving its ambitious goals across the Parliamentary Estate. Your responsibilities will include:
· Successful delivery of various projects or programmes in the capacity of employer’s agent / consultant project manager – managing, monitoring and coordinating all key aspects of the project, including but not limited to design, cost, value, risk, logistics, stakeholder relations, safety, quality, M&E, sustainability and environment.
· Responsible for ensuring project control & admin documents are produced and regularly reviewed/updated. (PEP, Programme, Risk Register etc)
· Managing and monitor the performance of the professional team and the main contractor with one vision throughout the project lifecycle. Establishing appropriate project reporting procedures and systems and preparing regular/monthly quality, cost and progress/programme reports to the client.
· Successful implementation of the Mace standards for project delivery, ensuring a consistently high level of project delivery excellence.
· Setting up and chairing regular progress meetings throughout all RIBA stages and report on project and commercial progress, issues and risks.
· Managing and developing the team to ensure the client’s vision is adhered to, goals are met and that the project team are supported and motivated throughout.
· Line Management as and when required.
· Overseeing production of tender schedules and contributing to procurement of specialist contractors. Issuing the instructions, on behalf of the client, to the contractor and any professional team in accordance with the terms of their appointment or the building contract.
· Advising the client of any decisions required and obtain authorisation.
· Assessing resources available on a regular basis and bring in additional support/specialist expertise.
· Ensuring close out and completion schedules are compiled and issued.
· Preparing detailed project plan and providing financial reports on time (forecasts, budgets, income, fees and etc.).
About you
You have a high level of digital competence and proven experience in managing project and financial software. You have mature emotional intelligence and can build lasting client relationships. You will have a construction or project management background and be motivated to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace have to offer. You will have proven experience working with public sector clients or on large public estates, with an appreciation of their governance requirements, stakeholder sensitivities and careful health and safety considerations.
