Job Description
The role
An opportunity has arisen for a qualitative researcher to join the team leading a new large NIHR Programme Grant titled, ‘Improving outcomes by addressing variation in unmet needs at transition to adult care for young people born with cleft lip and palate’ (short title: Cleft@18-20). Working closely with the Chief Investigator, Programme Manager and work package leads, the role holder use qualitative research methods with young adults born with cleft lip and/or palate and clinicians involved in cleft care from set up to dissemination.
What will you be doing?
The role holder will work with the study team to develop the study protocols, prepare study documentation and submit applications for ethics and other relevant approvals in the set up phase. They will liaise with key stakeholders to promote recruitment to the study and will be the primary researcher involved in data collection using remote interviewing and Delphi study approaches. With support from the study team and work package leads, they will carry out analysis of the data collected and both lead on and contribute to dissemination in the form of conference presentations and peer reviewed publications. They will also contribute to the route to impact from this work.
You should apply if
The successful applicant will have experience in qualitative health research. They will be a skilled communicator, able to connect with clinicians as well as patients, the public and academics. They will have awareness of research approvals processes, good organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and an ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Salary: £41,732 – £46,974 per annum

Shift pattern: 35 hours per week
