We are working with one of our key clients to help find them a Senior Structural Engineer to join the busy engineering team in their Winchester office on a full-time permanent basis; to assist with their pipeline of Structural design work.
Their projects include large complex schemes with contract values over £200 million to smaller local client focussed tasks. They work both in the UK and internationally with interesting clients including F1 Teams, motor manufacturers, Schools/Universities, Contractors, and Developers.
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting in the provision of a wide range of services.
Responsibilities:
- Production of structural engineering work packages relating to medium to large development projects from initial concept through to completion.
- Production of calculations packages for Building Control submission.
- Undertake survey inspections and produce written reports in good English on findings, set out in a logical manner with appropriate recommendations.
- Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
- Represent the company at external meetings with clients, contractors, and fellow professionals.
- Prepare client / project proposals.
- Agree design philosophy / design fundamentals.
- Manage individuals or small groups within the team including graduates and technicians.
- Manage projects and their workflow and allocate resource accordingly.
- Input into the team weekly resource.
- Be responsible for delivering work to a fee and to timescales agreed.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role you should possess / evidence:
- Be a graduate with a good degree in structural engineering,
- Be a member of Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Structural Engineers,
- Proven experience of working in a relevant design role,
- A good understanding of regulatory requirements,
- Proficiency in use of design software such as Tekla, Tedds, SCIA.
