Job Description

THE FIRM

An international law firm with specialisms in construction, aviation, shipping, insurance, commodities and energy.

THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity for a Shipping Litigation Lawyer to join the London team.

The role will encompass a broad mix of dry shipping and contract advisory work including disputes under charterparties, bills of lading, ship sale contracts, shipbuilding contracts and sale of goods and contracts with an opportunity to also undertake some admiralty work.

The focus will be on contentious but there will also be regular advisory/non contentious elements.

THE CANDIDATE

A lawyer with 4pqe+ you will have knowledge and experience of advising on physical transport contracts (charterparties, bills of lading, contracts of affreightment, sale contracts, ship management agreements etc) and handling disputes in the English High Court and arbitration

You will also be expected to play an active role in practice and business development, including writing articles and briefings for publications / clients.

International travel may be required
