Spinwell is recruiting for a Site Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SITE MANAGER
- The site manager is responsible for surveying complex secure sites which must be clearly detailed, and a full report supplied to pre-sales to enable a compliant cost model to be provided for sales. This will include a concise bill of materials and a scope of works to be built at time of survey.
- The survey should be conducted with a site point of contact to ensure all areas are captured and any areas not identified are to be highlighted to the sales team as it will be deemed incomplete. In this instance then caveated conditions may be required so need to be clearly documented.
- Day to day management of operations on site, ensuring that the project is brought to a successful completion and meets the required time, budget, and quality constraints.
- Before commencing works, the site manager prepares the site, carefully planning the work to be done. At times this will require obtaining office space within the client location.
- During works, the site manager will monitor and report progress, oversee deliveries and carry out safety checks and sort out any problems which could hold up work as they arise. A site manager will always also keep in close contact with members of their site team and liaise with the project team and site point of contacts while ensuring a full professional outlook. They will also ensure that work complies with building and security regulations and health and safety legislation as well as other legal requirements.
- Ensuring timely management of any unforeseen delays.
- Carry out toolbox briefings to the site teams and sub-contractors.
- Plan and efficiently organise the site facilities and logistics, ensuring all equipment on site is fit for purpose and only operated by appropriately trained staff.
- Additionally, due to the secure nature of the sites, the site manager is responsible for ensuring all staff and visitors are security cleared and the site is aware of all changes. This will be done by liaising directly with the project manager or the security department.
- Any work identified not to standard must be logged and submitted immediately to the project manager.
- Organise and chair weekly review meetings with site/sub-contractor team.
- Control and monitor site waste in accordance with the Company’s Site Waste Minimisation and Management policy.
