Job description: Working as first point of contact on behalf of the Respiratory NIV and Asthma nursing team and the Trust and deal effectively and courteously with all enquiries from GPs, patients and other departments, under the leadership and guidance of a senior medical secretary.This is a busy rewarding role based at Kent & Canterbury Hospital.Main duties of the jobThe successful applicant will be able to effectively prioritise their workload working on their own initiative as well as part of a team to access all enquiries, deal with these effectively and proactively to ensure a safe and smooth pathway for all our patients.Complete audio clinical letters and other correspondence as required by the senior nurses and their teams within agreed timeframes.   • Experience of a range of work procedure Minimum 2 years secretarial experience Experience of working for and within a team Contributing to the design and development of standard reports Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines and use own initiative. Able to communicate with, co-ordinate and liaise with a multidisciplinary team Able to remain calm in a busy environment whilst working under pressure. Able to make judgements involving a range of facts, that require analysis Ability to organise a number of complex activities including formulation and adjustment of plans Good interpersonal skills Excellent organisational skills Able to communicate routine information but understanding barriers to communication and imparting occasional sensitive information Basic Excel – application of basic formulas and exception reporting

Desirable

  • Previous experience of NHS Skills in NHS computer software. Audio typing, 50 wpm minimum. Minimum of 2years experience
