We are seeking a talented and experienced Shift Lead SOC Analyst to join our team in Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic group of cybersecurity professionals and play a key role in maintaining our nation’s cyber resilience.Position Overview: As the Shift Lead SOC Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing the 24/7 shift operations of our Security Operations Center. You will lead a team of SOC analysts in monitoring, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity incidents, ensuring the timely and effective resolution of security incidents. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to cybersecurity.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of SOC analysts in monitoring security alerts and events, and responding to cybersecurity incidents.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to SOC analysts to enhance their capabilities in incident detection, analysis, and response.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to coordinate incident response efforts and mitigate security risks effectively.
  • Develop and implement SOC procedures, workflows, and playbooks for incident detection, analysis, and response.
  • Conduct regular training sessions and tabletop exercises to ensure the readiness and effectiveness of the SOC team.
  • Continuously assess and improve SOC processes, technologies, and tools to enhance threat detection and response capabilities.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for complex security incidents, conducting in-depth analysis and guiding the team in implementing effective countermeasures.
  • Prepare and present regular reports and metrics on SOC performance, incident trends, and emerging threats to senior management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience working in a Security Operations Center, with a strong understanding of incident detection, analysis, and response processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of cybersecurity professionals effectively.
  • Expertise in using SIEM tools, such as Splunk, ArcSight, or ELK Stack, for log analysis and correlation.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threat intelligence, and common attack vectors.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, CEH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
