Job description: Why this job matters:The Social Media Manager will oversee the Business organic social strategy, driving outstanding and innovative content to grow our brand reach and impact. You will set out the organic social plan for all our social channels and make decisions on any new platforms that Business should be active on. You will own the social media budget and be responsible for measuring ROI and ensuring key measures of success are in place. You’ll contribute towards the overall awareness and success of the BT Business brand, taking a key role in showing our customers and wider stakeholders how BT means business.What you’ll be doing:

  • Accountable for delivering and shaping BT Business’ organic social strategy to enable the achievement of the Brand goals
  • Own and deliver strategic social investment choices that underpin the Brand strategy
  • Own and deliver social KPIs and targets
  • Own relationship with BT Group and EE across social teams, inc BT care
  • Manage the delivery of social content, working with marketing colleagues across internal comms, campaigns and advertising, events and hospitality, content and social media
  • Manage the team of Social Media Professionals ensuring they deliver against planned activity to timelines and budgets
  • Decide on capacity planning across 2 x Professionals based on particular content and delivery needs
  • Set the strategy and plans for employee advocacy
  • Manage the Social Professionals to establish top-quality community management across all platforms
  • Manage relationship with PR, Sustainability and Internal Comms to create aligned plans across customer/stakeholder/employee
  • Represent BT Business’ social strategy internally – sharing plans and results & gaining buy in from key senior stakeholders

Skills and Experience:

  • Story-telling with data: strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences
  • Business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business cases)
  • Relationship building: Ability to quickly establish credibility, build strong working relationships and influence outcomes with your stakeholders pan Consumer and BT i.e. Propositions, Partnerships, Technical, Marketing
  • Data and analytics – Confident analysing data related to sponsorships and reporting this with recommendations and insights that are actionable, whilst optimising future activity
  • Creative evaluation expertise – Ability to brief creative teams and evaluate their creative (concepts, designs and copy)
  • External agency management: Experienced in managing external partners and/or agencies to deliver sponsorship activation, managing agency delivery, quality & budgets
  • Previous experience working in a B2B role – within a marketing team
  • Experience of managing and influencing internal and external stakeholders and vendors
  • Experience in leading B2B social media accounts, understanding how organic social media supports the bigger brand ambition and strategy. Knowledgeable about social trends, content trends, community management best practice
  • Data and analytics – confident analysing data related to social and reporting this with recommendations and insights that are actionable, whilst optimising future activity
  • Ideally Industry knowledge – familiarity with telco/tech industry including trends, terminology and target audiences but not essential
