A Solution Architect plays a critical role in the IT department at the University of Sheffield. This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and innovative IT solutions. A Solution Architect collaborates with various stakeholders to understand business requirements, assess existing systems, and develop strategic technology solutions that align with the University’s goals.
You will stay abreast of emerging technologies and assess their applicability to University IT initiatives and evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and frameworks that align with the University’s strategic objectives.
The role will also help contribute to the development of IT strategies and roadmaps aligned with the University’s mission and objectives and participate in the development of long-term technology plans and policies. As a technology leader you will provide training and mentorship to IT staff on architectural best practices and help foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the IT department.
