Job description: Five Education is working with an SEN school in the Bristol area to find suitable staff to support pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). The students you would work with will have a vast range of individual needs and so your role as a teacher here will be to ensure each student develops their own strengths. This is a rewarding role for the right person as they will be developing a relationship based on trust with the students in order to help them achieve their potential and believe in themselves.
Experience is not essential but beneficial. A perfect candidate would be passionate about learning, show initiative and organisational skills, resilience and flexibility.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Guiding students – Supporting 1:1 and/or small groups of pupils
  • Build trusting and constructive relationships with pupils
  • Be a team player – Work with the school to ensure the best support and care
  • Encourage engagement and development in child’s learning
  • Set challenges to promote self-esteem and independence
  • Provide feedback to both teachers and pupils
  • Encourage socialisation and good behaviour through being patient and empathetic

Essential Criteria:

  • QTS
  • Commitment to personal professional development
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Valid/relevant DBS
  • Two recent references
  • 10 years (or nearest) work history
