Are you a games development expert with a passion for design, innovation and the arts?

Do you have experience supporting users or clients with exciting and challenging games development projects using Unreal Engine? This is your opportunity to join a growing team of digital specialists supporting technical learning at the Royal College of Art.

Location

Battersea Campus (primary location), Kensington & White City (secondary locations) London, UK.

What are we looking for?

An adaptable and highly motivated person to provide technical instruction, support, advice and demonstrations in Unreal Engine and some related XR processes such as motion capture and use of VR HMDs. The ideal candidate will have experience, either in producing immersive content in the commercial sector, or teaching it as a technical process in Higher Education. They will have a keen ability to problem solve and an ambition to support emerging activities. Candidates will have: 

  • Significant, highly skilled, specialist knowledge in the application of Unreal Engine.
  • Significant knowledge of at least one of the following coding languages: C#, C++, Python, JAVA.
  • Significant experience using Virtual Reality technologies.
  • Experience of day-to-day operation and maintenance of an XR, games development or digital training resource.
  • Experience of planning and delivering in person technical workshops.

What will the job involve?

Providing specialist technical instruction, support, advice and demonstrations in Unreal Engine for all users, including the creation and delivery of technical workshops for small groups (15 max). 

Experimental work and problem solving on a daily basis.

Working closely with Masters students to support their independent research projects.

Peer-to-peer learning with other technical specialists and continual learning as part of a dynamic team.
