As the PMO Analyst within the Strategy Consulting Team, you’ll be responsible for supporting the Project Lead with overseeing projects, contributing to project planning, preparing and maintaining documentation; tracking project/program status, monitoring project activities, and evaluating the overall project to ensure successful delivery. Supporting the adoption of the project deliverables from initialisation to project close, identifying areas of optimisation and working with the PMO Manager to implement progression initiatives.

What does a “day in the life” of my new team look like?

Delivery

  • Assisting Project Leads from initialisation through to project close, contributing to quality reviews.
  • Support the risk management planning, recognition and mitigation; providing the analysed data needed to make the big-picture decisions.
  • Manage programme level lessons learned repository; manage post project review meetings to identify improvement opportunities to be implemented in future projects/programmes. Contributing to the assurance review process.
  • Collate qualitative and quantitative workshop / validation outputs; analyse and contribute to quality reviews; actively seeking feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Continued evolvement of the PMO processes, toolkits and templates. Responsible for maintaining the function’s SharePoint and MS Teams, ensuring tools and templates are updated, and rolled out to the team.
  • Support SME’s in the development of end-to-end recruitment process, talent acquisition function and strategic consulting recommendations / solutions.

Team Leadership

  • Takes on mentoring/coaching responsibilities for Analyst level roles.
  • Conduct training and upskilling to support the team’s development.

Relationships

  • Manage relationships and actively influence project stakeholders and SME’s to reach decisions and progress the project forward
  • Collaborate with peers and managers on best practices, support, and ideas for continuous improvement

Growth

  • Identify out of scope requests and activities and raise to project/line manager
  • Monitor number of hours used against each project or deliverable on a weekly basis and proactively flag if a project is likely to go beyond projected hours
  • Provide tangible contribution to internal ad hoc and continuous improvement initiatives within the team

What do you need from me?

Must have:

  • Experience in working in a project environment; specifically delivering project/programme co-ordination/administration.
  • Exposure to the end-to-end project lifecycle or managing substantial parts of the project lifecycle.
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages, including Project, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • An excellent customer centric approach.
  • Experience analysing data and project information to identify better ways of working.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a focus on data analysis, interpretation and problem solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and drive projects and activities without direct supervision.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, supporting multiple projects, deliverables, and activities at any point in time.
  • Ability to absorb and rationalise feedback, demonstrating ability to adjust delivery and ways of working.

Nice to have:

  • Experience of working within a structured project management framework.
  • Experience of managing small projects or supporting multiple projects at one given time.
  • Previous experience in Talent Acquisition or other related fields is desirable.
  • Prince2, MSP or P30 qualifications are desirable.
  • Experience in one or more project management methodologies Experience of using Microsoft SharePoint, Slack, and other collaboration tools.
  • Additional languages at business level
