Glasgow City Council is able to provide a summer Internship from Monday 05 June 2023 – Friday 25 August 2023, inclusive. Applicants must be available for the full duration of the placement. The intern will work 35 hours per week and rate of pay will be the Glasgow Living Wage. Interns will work for 12 weeks, during which time they will accrue 6 days leave, the payment of which is included in their Salary so must be taken during their 12 week placement.
Enable staff to deliver a sustainable and innovative council structure that delivers value for money
A service critical need was identified in 2023 to review the delivery of an area of school services through the worker contract types, historically used to support this work.
The first phase of the project carried out an audit of core effectiveness, reviewing service requirements, mapping core contract needs. This review created a saving in wage costs of £160k pa.
Phase two will build on this work to find the final sustainable business solution through the alignment of effective service delivery, contract types, line management controls and staffing budgets.
The work will involve Business support and problem solving through Data analytics, Business Analysis, establishment of effective systems and processes, sustainable monitoring and evaluating costs and contracts.
Working in a service project team with Business partners from HR, Legal and Finance to deliver effective outcomes.
The project outcomes will meet all internal and external governance requirements including employment law and financial reporting.
