The ideal candidate will have transferable skills that can be effectively utilized within an educational setting. As a support staff member, you will play a crucial role in providing assistance to students and teachers, contributing to the overall well-being and academic success of the school community.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs or disabilities
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Contribute to the personal, social, and emotional development of students
- Support students during lunchtime and break periods
- Help maintain a safe and clean learning environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a care worker or in a similar role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt and transfer skills to an educational setting
- Empathy, patience, and understanding towards students’ diverse needs
- Willingness to undergo relevant training and development
