Due to our recent growth across the Gama Aviation Group, we are recruiting for an exciting new position within our People & Talent Team as Talent Acquisition Advisor. This role will be working very closely with the Talent Acquisition Manager to manage and coordinate the full recruitment lifecycle within one of Strategic Business Units, MRO. This role will be based at our Engineering Hub in Bournemouth, but will require bi-weekly travel to our HQ in Farnborough.

Working alongside a knowledgeable, fun and supportive People & Talent Team, you will support managers and other stakeholders to source a strong talent pipeline of both internal and external applicants for open roles within the SBU through various channels, including social media, job advertising, employee referrals, our existing talent pool, and agency partners. Candidate and line manager experience will be at the very forefront of all activities, ensuring a superior experience for all from application through to offer.

The Talent Acquisition Advisor will play a crucial role in supporting the company’s growth and ensuring the organisation has a skilled workforce. Whilst supporting the ongoing recruitment, you will also have the opportunity to be involved in talent projects including development of our recruit system, employer branding activities, EVP development, candidate journey, attending / hosting career events, direct sourcing and much more!

Ultimately, you will be supporting the overarching strategy of achieving efficient and effective hiring processes as well as providing a positive candidate experience for potential new employees. You will need excellent stakeholder management skills, be able to influence and remain calm under pressure. Overall you will be highly passionate about the candidate journey with excellent attention to detail, and be able to own the process.

/ Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with the Talent Acquisition Manager, lead on all recruitment activity within MRO and other areas in the business as required
  • Obtain the required information for all new roles within the BU, including completed recruitment requisition and job description
  • Work with hiring managers to prepare the job scope as required and upload on Sage People for approval from the MD to launch recruitment campaigns
  • Determine the selection criteria with the hiring manager, understanding the key requirements and essential skills sought
  • Work in partnership with hiring managers ensuring that you adequately understand the needs of the department and the requirements and expectations of each job role/vacancy
  • Prepare adverts for each new role and advertise across agreed job sites, ensuring the advert captures the vision for the role as well as the person specification required
  • Utilise various sourcing channels to identify and engage with qualified candidates, including social media, job advertising, employee referrals, our existing talent pool, and agency partners
  • Support our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategy by ensuring our vacancies are visible and attractive to a wide talent pool
  • Initial sifting and screening of CV’s for each live vacancy, ensuring all applicants have the relevant RTW and receive a positive experience throughout the process
  • Complete pre-screening interviews with selected applicants, ensuring suitability for the role and organisational fit
  • Organise further interview stages with selected candidates throughout the recruitment process; sending diary invites/Teams meetings, assessments and in-person interviews
  • Ensure all candidates receive an excellent candidate experience, regardless of the outcome of their application, providing updates and feedback at all stages of their journey
  • Engaging with external suppliers working on recruitment activity, ensuring they are ambassadors of the brand, working as an extension of our Talent Acquisition Team, providing best standards of delivery and the highest quality of candidates
  • Drafting and issuing offer letters, contracts of employment and new starter forms via the electronic signature system, and uploading completed documentation to Sage People
  • Support the People & Talent Administrator with the onboarding of employees including completing Right to Work checks as necessary
  • Work with hiring managers on the recruitment of contractors, advising managers on IR35 legislation and the process we need to undertake when engaging with contractors, ensuring hiring needs are met whilst staying compliant with IR35 rules
  • With support from the People Partners, assess a contractor’s tax status using the QDOS tool, and issuing the appropriate agreement to the contractor
  • Track and monitor progress of vacancies and offers across the region, to ensure any challenges are identified and escalated swiftly
  • Track and record TA and hiring metrics for the MRO Business Unit including Quality per Hire, Time to Hire, Cost per Hire, Hires Source and all costs relevant to recruitment campaigns
  • Being a Subject Matter Expert for your business area(s) by building knowledge of competitor activity and practices, salary information, industry insight, regulatory developments and trends etc
  • Support and coordinate effective recruitment campaigns and talent initiatives that help meet the organisation’s strategic objectives, including early careers, career events, DE&I, talent pools and employer branding
  • Provide a consultative approach; to advise and provide insight into current labour market trends

/ Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:

Essential

  • Experience of managing recruitment processes from end to end within an agency or inhouse recruitment environment
  • Experience of sourcing methods across a multitude of platforms and networks
  • Familiarity with social media, CV databases and professional networks
  • Process driven individual with the ability to think creatively
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrable experience of working with and across multiple systems
  • Detail oriented with strong written, oral and verbal presentation skills
  • Ability to multitask and handle competing priorities
  • People orientated, highly organised and an effective communicator able to collaborate with different teams
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and manage difficult situations
  • Excellent time management and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels as well as external partners

Advantageous

  • Familiarity with Aircraft Engineering skills and qualifications would be a distinct advantage
  • A strong interest in Human Resources
