The Opportunity
Within this role you will be pivotal to the success of the Horticulture provision the College delivers to students from across the East Midlands. The team you’ll be joining is small, energetic and diverse. You’ll be working with mainly adult learners although there may be some 16 -18 year old learners. The courses delivered will be mainly RHS Level 2 practical skills and there will also be some Level 3 -provision such as Garden Design and also a range of short and vocational courses.
Through the delivery of engaging teaching, learning and assessment, you will ensure they gain an in depth understanding of subjects such as;
- Hard and soft landscaping
- Nomenclature
- Plant identification & propagation
- Grounds maintenance
- Horticulture machinery
- Pest and disease identification
- Garden design
- Crop husbandry
About you
You’ll hold a Level 3 or higher in Horticulture or a related subject, and must have experience of working within the industry and preferably have some teaching/assessing experience. Experience with community projects and show gardens is also desirable.
Not a qualified teacher? No problem: you can start your teaching career with us! Pass on your skills to our students and get trained in-house.
