Job Description

The University of Salford has a new vacancy for the a Teaching Fellow in Games Design and Production in the School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology.

The BSc (Hons) Game Design & Production programme at Salford is a dynamic and exciting programme that fuses practice and theory to foster engaged and motivated students who can innovatively express ideas and stories through interactive media. It is currently based in a cutting-edge digital facility in the heart of Media City, a major national creative industries hub.

In line with games industry practice, candidates should have experience with agile management methodologies and practice, and creative production abilities. They will understand the making of games through professional production workflows, pipelines, and industry standard tooling, including art, programming, engines, and design tools.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate experience of working in teams to produce interactive content with a deep knowledge of games design practice and theory, combined with confident creative problem solving and an ability to communicate across art, programming and design disciplines.

Candidates should also have experience of teaching in higher education and should be able to demonstrate the ability to use innovative pedagogical approaches to enhance the learning experience of students. Teaching expertise in some of the following areas is essential: Game Design, Agile Management Practice, Iterative Design and Testing.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 12 months.
