Job description: We have a great opportunity available for a Team Manager to join our Adult Social Care team on a full time, permanent basis.
As the Team Manager, you will provide operational management to the CHC/S117 Support Team and ensure fair access to appropriate funding streams for Wokingham residents. This includes planning, organising, supervision of staff and monitoring team performance and quality and taking action to improve where necessary.
You will play a key role in supporting Children and Adult Social Care teams with CHC and S117 work, attending CHC panels, NHS Independent Review panels (as councils nominated lead), joint funding panels for S177 with the Integrated Care Board (as councils nominated lead), and Children’s internal and external funding panels.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure efficient and effective day to day service delivery through management of team workload, planning and work allocation with appropriate analysis of complexity and priority, achievement against key performance indicators, oversight of delivery, escalation of issues arising as appropriate.
- Lead and be accountable for all aspects of management of staff within the team, including all corporate policies and procedures are implemented and effective recruitment, retention and performance management is ensured.
- To lead and ensure professional relationships with relevant stakeholders are developed and maintained, including with voluntary services, to enable collaborative multiagency working, develop innovative ways of working, and encourage an open and transparent dialogue.
- To have awareness of the social, political, and financial environment the council operates within and appropriately respond to this.
Candidate Requirements:
- Recognised and current health or social care professional qualification and registration e.g. SW England, HCPC
- Excellent knowledge of Children’s and Adult’s Social Care legislation, DHSC strategy and Reforms and ability to implement.
- In-depth knowledge of the NHS Continuing Healthcare National Framework and associated directions and provisions and application of this
- Ability to manage self and staff from a range of disciplines & professional backgrounds in highly stressful and pressurised situations, including modelling best practice and required standards.

Expected salary: £54707 – 57921 per year
