We have a great opportunity for a Technical Lead to join our Composite Centre team at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC). We are looking for candidates with a passion for engineering, cutting and composite research and technology. As part of a team of motivated researchers, you will contribute to the objectives of the Composite Centre, through delivery of a number of industrially-focused, world-leading research and development projects.

The role will include;

  • the planning of projects and resources
  • project team leadership
  • regular communication with customers and industrial partners
  • delivery of projects to timescales
  • technical problem solving.

At all stages of project life cycles, you will work with a team that has a wide range of knowledge and expertise across multiple departments in the AMRC, as well as the broader academic and research communities. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with industry across multiple sectors, working directly with customers to generate new project ideas and solve the real-world manufacturing issues of today whilst developing the technology of tomorrow.

The projects undertaken frequently involve overseas partners. Consequently, there may be opportunities for travel across mainland Europe, the USA, Japan and South Korea. You will also have the opportunity to assist with the development of the technical strategy of the centre and, through sustained excellent contribution, progress into new roles.
