Job description: About The RoleWe have a fantastic opportunity for a Food Safety Manager to join our Head Office retail & logistics team & for the right candidate we’re offering a very competitive industry salary & car allowance. Whilst the role is based at our Leeds/Bradford Head Office it is a hybrid role working 37.5 hours per week over four and half days.Reporting to the Senior Corporate Services Manager – Food Safety you will be responsible for all elements of food safety enforcement, serious incident complaints and food safety training design. Additionally you will provide technical advice and support to the business to ensure that customers are provided with safe and legal products. You will be committed to proactive continuous improvement and implementing best practice.Working with internal and external stakeholders and our Regional Compliance Managers to drive improvements in food safety compliance in store and logistics operations.Role Responsibilities (this list is not exhaustive)Working with stakeholders to investigate complaints referred from local authorities and the Primary Authority to minimise the risk of regulatory challengeWorking with stakeholders on the retail improvement plan including working with local authorities to achieve FHR 5 and Pass in all storesManagement of the Primary Authority relationship in relation to food safetyWorking with external stakeholders on the Food Standards Agency Achieving Business Compliance programme.Proactively horizon scan for changes in food safety legislation and best practiceManaging serious incident complaints and escalating & coordinating serious food safety concerns to all relevant stakeholdersWorking with training teams on food safety training for all levels of the businessWorking with retail and logistics operations to provide expert food safety adviceProduce reports in a clear, concise and consistent formatAbout YouDesirable Skills and Knowledge:Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent experience.Experience of working with regulators/industry bodiesAn understanding of retail, catering, manufacturing or logistics operationsKnowledge and understanding of food safety legislation and its requirementsA good understanding of food safety / quality management systemsKnowledge of Retail operationsCustomer focussed with a positive, ‘can do’ attitudeExperience working in a complex organisation with multiple stakeholdersProfessional approach, with good interpersonal skills and a positive outlookGood communication skills and the confidence to deal with business partners at all levelsExcellent time-management skills/project management skillsStrong leadership skills and ability to lead cross functional projects/teamsAbout The TeamAbout Us Description:We’re passionate about providing quality, value and freshness from farm to fork.
