Job description: Astute’s Renewables team is exclusively partnering with a specialist wind energy developer, whose ethos is centred around making positive contributions to achieving net-zero emissions with an emphasis on community benefit. To ensure continued growth we are looking for a Technical Manager to provide comprehensive services across the development teams within Wind, Solar and Battery Storage projects.
The Technical Manager role comes with a salary up to £65,000, car allowance, bonus scheme and other great company benefits. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for all aspects of site design, project yield analysis, wind resource measurement and GIS support.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Technical Director you will:
- Design and manage wind data measurement campaigns, including remote sensing, met mast install, maintenance, and decommissioning.
- Design and yield analysis of wind and solar farms, maximise site potential with considerations of environmental and technical constraints.
- Manage a team of Engineers and GIS analysts, mentoring and developing the team.
- Develop and maintain links to major wind turbine suppliers/ Solar EPC providers, to maintain sites are designed and planned to the latest technology.
- Working closely with the Project Managers to resolve technical constraints on sites, including access, aviation, and telecoms, also alerting management to any risks to project costs, commercial programme, budgets, and developments.
- Take the lead on resolving technical constraints to the wind or solar farm’s developments.
- Continual development of the technical work processes to ensure up to date software, processes and thinking are being used.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- A relevant degree in Engineering.
- Proven background within the wind development sector.
- Strong and demonstrable knowledge of wind farm yield analysis, GIS, and commercial & financial modelling.
- Proven experience of wind data modelling

The Technical Manager role would suit someone who is:
- Flexible to attend occasional UK wide site visits when necessary.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Can demonstrate strong leadership skills, as the successful candidate will be managing a small team.
