Making a difference to the lives of our customers each and every day.Working within our Commercial Underwriting and Pricing Team you’ll be an analyst within the team responsible for delivery, maintenance and improvement of technical price models that underpin analysis and pricing across UK Insurance and Bupa Global lines of business.What you’ll do:Develop and maintain statistical & machine learning models of technical claims costs to support pricing, and deliver assets that provide insight into customer decision making behaviours, across all UKI and Bupa Global Product lines.Monitoring our catalogue of models, ensuring assets remain relevant for business mix written, model predictions are accurate and representative of future experience, and adapting the models promptly when required.Identify and model candidate new data resources that will further enhance our stable of Pricing models.Monitor, analyse and interpret any internal or external information / market activity / regulatory change which may impact on future technical claims costs.Support collaboration with the financial forecasting and clinical analytics teams to develop sophisticated claims inflation models that underpin our technical pricing models.Build efficient processes, automating tasks where required to reduce any drag on resources.Be curious and innovative in your analysis, challenging the status quo, and continuously develop your own their skills.Providing analytical support and subject matter expertise to cross-functional projectsEnsure all assets produced deliver outcomes as prescribed by Pricing risk policies.What you’ll bring:Part Qualified Actuary (IFoA) or equivalent (3yrs minimum experience).Ideally PMI pricing experience – but candidates with pricing experience in wider general insurance sectors will be consideredExtensive experience of Statistical & Machine learning model production and maintenance.Strong numerical and analytical skills demonstrated through previous experience.Experience with suitable data engineering, statistical and analytical tools such as SAS, SQL, Emblem, Radar and R / Python,Proven track record of applying analytics and data modelling to business situations in order to provide strategic recommendations. Ability to refine and apply knowledge of data to solve business needs.A proactive mindset, challenging requirements, seeing things from a customer’s viewpoint and exploring new directions from results of analyses •Good communication and influencing skills.BenefitsOur benefits are designed to make health happen for our people.
