Summary:
Are you ready to take your career to new heights? We are looking for a “hands on” Technical Specialist, to join the department’s Laboratory services group, you will lead all “operations” within the Departments Structural integrity laboratory (Lea laboratory).
Reporting to the Departmental Technical Manager, you will take full responsibility for the running of the structural integrity facility, supporting all research activities including the design of bespoke experimentation providing technical expertise to both staff and students. You will take full responsibility to ensure that the laboratory continues to be recognised for their service excellence and exemplary Health and Safety record. you will conduct comprehensive, bespoke structural integrity and mechanical testing experiments. The postholder will also ensure the success of commercial and industrial collaborations. You will proactively support students and staff by implementing and promoting good laboratory practice, carrying out laboratory inductions, managing and mentoring colleagues or service users and providing training to new users so they can effectively conduct Structural integrity activities. In addition, you will contribute to teaching and research activities.
