ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:
As a Test Engineer, you will Ensures the software is verified and validated against the criteria set out in the functional and non- functional specifications, by defining test cases and ensuring their execution. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test cases to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality software.
You will work with a cross-functional scrum team on the development of new solutions in the Air Travel Industry. Using Agile practices, you and the team will be responsible for making delayed and lost luggage a thing of the past!
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements and develop comprehensive test plans; Design and develop test cases, test scripts, and test data to effectively validate software functionality.
- Execute manual and automated tests to identify defects and ensure the software meets the specified requirements; Develop and maintain test automation frameworks, scripts, and tools to improve testing efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform various types of testing, including functional testing, integration testing, performance testing, and regression testing.
- Identify, analyse, and report software defects, and work closely with the development team to resolve them.
- Participate in peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance the overall quality of the software.
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and understanding of software requirements.
- Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to optimize software quality and testing efficiency.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques in software testing and incorporate them into the testing practices.
- Actively provide feedback to senior QA management which may result in new working practices or general QA improvements.
- Ensure the software is verified and validated against the criteria set out in the functional and non-functional specifications, by defining test cases, ensuring their execution, and capturing the results.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a Software Development or Testing environment including experience with current software testing methodologies, functional testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Test Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#) for test automation.
- Proficiency in WebDriver or Web driver IO & Experience with test management tools and defect tracking systems.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team environment.
KEY SKILLS:
- ISTQB Foundation qualification or a recognized country-specific qualification is desirable.
- Knowledge of MariaDB.
- Experience in Mobile Testing.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
- Familiarity with Performance & Security Testing.
