Job title: Theatre Audit Clerk

Job description: The post holder is expected to undertake allocated clinical audit projects within Theatres.The post holder will be required to collate and input the data required to ensure the Operating Theatre is compliant with the data collection for mandatory and national audits.To collate and theme local audits and present to Theatre Matron.In addition, the post holder will work with the Operating Theatres to collate data for audits at local level within the department audit programme.Main duties of the jobTo collate data for the successful delivery of the Operating Theatre audits.To have input to the audit design of new audits. i.e. provide advice and guidance to the clinical team on the audit methodology and train them how to collect the data etc.To attend Theatre Matrons meetings to present findings from collected data for audit purposes.To provide information for monthly reports of progress on audit projects.To undertake administration duties required for the audit programme including the monitoring of audits on the audit programme e.g. each stage of the audit cycle and/or ensuring the correct number of forms are completed according to the audit methodology.To communicate regularly with key individuals on the progress of audit projects.To assist with the production of reports and/or presentations, as required, communicating results, identifying problems, and highlighting areas for improvement to patient care and services.To circulate reports and action plans.To obtain medical records for agreed audits.In accordance with the Health Act (2006) all staff are expected to comply with national and local infection control policies and procedures and any other related infection prevention policies or procedures. In addition all staff whose normal duties are directly or indirectly concerned with patient care should ensure they have received annual mandatory training (including hand hygiene)To provide assistance with data collection on other sites when required.About usWe are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people.
