Our client is an exciting tech company providing modern solutions to consumer utilities, they are currently seeking a Transactional Manager to join their team. This is a remote, contract position based in London. As a Transactional Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing various transactional activities within the accounting department, along with 1 direct report.

Job Duties:

  • Work closely with the Project Accounting Team and Delivery Managers to understand billing triggers, billing and credit notes, contract billing schedules, and contract-specific billing requirements
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to effectively manage the debtors ledger, including settlement reporting and escalating aged debtors and blockers
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, including invoice posting and managing the purchase order process
  • Manage the Accounts Receivable mailbox and maintain trackers for billing, accounts receivable, and settlement reporting
  • Handle payment run management and expense approval and processing
  • Perform supplier statement reconciliations and manage the Accounts Payable mailbox
  • Supervise and remotely manage 1 direct report

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a transactional role within the accounting field
  • Strong understanding of billing processes, contract billing schedules, and debtors ledger management
  • Experience with invoice posting, purchase order management, payment run management, and expense processing
  • Proficiency in supplier statement reconciliations and accounts payable tasks
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Previous supervisory experience

Other Duties:

  • VAT return review
  • Prepayments and accruals
  • Profit and loss/variance analysis
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Cost centre analysis
  • Maintain quality audit trail, reconciliations, and records to support financial accounting of the entries.
  • Assist with the year-end audit, liaising with the auditors as necessary.
  • Continually looking for opportunities to develop and improve processes and adopt automation.
  • Additional finance team responsibilities as required.
  • One direct report.

Education:

A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not essential.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in transactional accounting roles.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of billing processes, credit notes, and contract-specific billing requirements
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and tools
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial transactions
  • Ability to analyse financial data and generate relevant reports
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the tech industry or with utility companies

Working Conditions:

This is a contract position, expected to work full-time hours. The successful candidate will have the flexibility to work remotely. Occasional travel to client sites or company headquarters may be required.

Expected salary: £28 per hour
